Buyer success story · Jake Edwards

Broadbeach Waters

Sydney family buying a first position in the suburb

Under budget by $400,000.

— The story

How Jake secured this home

Who

A young family relocating from Sydney, wanting to establish themselves in Broadbeach Waters as quickly as possible. The husband is a builder and carpenter by trade.

Client brief

A renovator, and a specific kind of one. They weren't buying a home to settle into — they were buying a first position in a suburb they intended to stay in. The plan was an apartment the husband could work on himself over roughly twenty-four months, then trade up to a larger family home in the same pocket. So the brief was less about the property and more about the strategy: get into Broadbeach Waters, buy something with room to improve, and don't overcommit the budget doing it.

Journey

Speed mattered here, and the search reflected it. Rather than chase the largest property their budget allowed, we looked for the one that best served the plan — an apartment in the right street, in the right suburb, with work to be done and headroom to add value. We had them under contract within four weeks of engagement.

Budget result

Under budget by $400,000.

Outcome

Purchased for well under their budget, in the pocket they'd targeted, with the renovation ahead of them and the upgrade to follow.
