Client brief
An apartment anywhere between Broadbeach and Palm Beach. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one car space as a minimum, and close enough to the beach that it would be part of her daughter's everyday life rather than an occasional outing. She had a preference for something brand new.
Journey
This was a longer search, running six to eight weeks across a considerable stretch of coastline, from Burleigh Heads and its beachfront buildings all the way south. Nothing established quite reconciled her preference for new with the space she needed at the price she had. The answer turned out to be off the plan — a newly built apartment in Palm Beach that no one had ever lived in, and which gave her a second car space she hadn't asked for.
